about Next Generation Dance Awards
The program of this coming OctoberDANCE Festival will include dance competition in solo and ensemble categories in various styles, Masterclasses with distinguished professionals, and a Gala of the Winners (with the soloists and ensembles who at the competition scored high enough to receive “Gold” or “Platinum” level distinction.)
OctoberDANCE Festival is meant to serve as a vehicle for young dancers to show their skill and talent. Equally as important, sharing rich ethnic traditions and cultural heritage of our communities is one of the goals the Festival organizers.
In addition to great performance and learning opportunities for dancers there are also incentives for the studio owners, Artistic Directors, instructors, and choreographers of the participating dance studios and groups, including:
A great opportunity to present in public your choreography, instructor’s teaching style, and quality of training at your studio, or showcase a specific performing group.
A venue to polish choreography routines before other upcoming competitions and recitals.
Another deadline that stimulates your soloists and ensembles to learn new choreography, acquire new techniques and skills – all of which usually requires additional rehearsals and private lessons.
Other incentives and prizes may be established by the Festival to promote diversity and cultural exchange in our communities.
Next Generation Dance Awards started in 2021 as OctoberDANCE Festival with an idea to offer an opportunity and venue for a broad category of young dancers to perform in a variety of dance styles – Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, Character and Ethnic dance – as soloists or as a part of a larger group. The Festival has grown into a dance competition – with the same spirit of openness to the diversity of dance styles, training levels and teaching traditions.
Next Generation Dance Awards is a forum for young dancers to show their skill and talent, and share cultural traditions, heritage and diversity of our communities.
For artistic directors, studio owners, teachers, and choreographers participation at the Next Generation Dance Awards is a wonderful opportunity to showcase their work, present new choreography, promote their performing group or dance studio.
This year Next Generation Dance Awards will feature a dance competition in solo and ensemble categories, Masterclasses with distinguished professionals, and will end with the Award Ceremony and Gala of the Winners for which the performers will be selected based on their competition scores and invitation from the Judges.
